Our vineyards total approximately 2 hectares of grapes, divided into two separate plots. Nestled between many rows of Sangiovese, we have around 10 rows of Merlot, which we use to make this IGT. The low number of plants means that we have a very limited number of these bottles available each year. Due to the more fragile nature of Merlot grapes, there are also years when we are unable to harvest anything.
Our alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and maceration of the skins lasts for a maximum of three weeks. Malolactic fermentation also takes place in the steel tanks, after which we transfer the wine to french oak barrels for ageing.
